What is it?
Images are often the heaviest part of a website. The compressor makes them smaller by saving them in a modern format such as WebP, at a quality you choose and, if you like, at a smaller size. Pages load faster and save data on phones.
How it works

FAQ
- Which format should I pick?
- WebP for photos and graphics on websites: it is usually much smaller than JPG and keeps transparency. JPG for places that do not accept WebP. PNG when every pixel must stay exactly the same, for example for screenshots with fine text.
- What quality is right?
- For photos 75 to 85 is a good start. Below about 60 you may see blocks and blurry edges. Compare the preview and the new size to find your balance.
- Are my images uploaded?
- No. Everything happens in your browser. Your images never leave your device and are not stored anywhere.
