What is it?

Neon shapes are bright outline shapes that glow on a dark background, like bent glass tubes in a bar sign. The look fits gaming, music, nightlife and retro 80s designs.

What you can use it for

  • Gaming and streaming

Neon shapes make strong backgrounds for stream overlays, thumbnails and Discord banners.

  • Music and events

Party posters, DJ flyers and club graphics get a night-time feel without a photo.

  • Retro and synthwave

Combined with the 3D perspective grid, neon shapes complete the 80s look.

How it works

Choose which shapes appear and how many, then set their size, the tube width and the glow. A white core makes the tubes look hot, the haze lights up the background softly. Press Space for new variants and export as PNG, JPG, WebP, SVG or animated GIF.

Tips

  • Few large shapes with strong glow look like a real neon sign. Many small shapes look like confetti of light.
  • The glow shows best on very dark, slightly colored backgrounds instead of pure black.
  • In the SVG every glow is a stack of strokes. You can recolor the shapes in Figma or Illustrator.

FAQ

How is the glow made?
Every shape is drawn several times, wider and fainter each time, under the tube itself. That looks like a soft blur but needs no filter, so it renders the same at every size.
Can I edit the SVG?
Yes. It consists of plain paths with strokes. Design apps open it as editable shapes.
Why is my background gone in the JPG?
It is not: JPG has no transparency, so the background color is always included. For a transparent background export PNG or SVG with the background set to transparent.
Does the export look like the preview?
Yes. Preview and export use the same graphic, computed from the seed. The same settings and seed always give the same result.
