What is it?

Low poly is a faceted look made of flat triangles, like a cut gem or a paper model. Voronoi cells split the surface into organic regions around scattered points, like dry earth or a mosaic. Both make striking backgrounds for websites, slides, posters and social posts.

How it works

Pick triangles or Voronoi cells, set the point spacing and choose a gradient through your colors. Add light for a sculpted look, lines for a wireframe, or a gap and rounded corners for mosaic tiles. Press Space for a new arrangement. Export as SVG, PNG, JPG, WebP, CSS or animated GIF.

FAQ

How are the triangles made?
Points are spread evenly with Poisson-disk sampling (or a jittered grid) and connected by a Delaunay triangulation: no triangle's circumcircle contains another point, which avoids thin slivers.
What are Voronoi cells?
Each cell holds the part of the surface that is closer to its point than to any other point. The cells are clipped to the canvas, so the whole image is covered.
Where do the colors come from?
Each face takes the color of the gradient at its center. Color variation and lighting change the brightness per face; lighting uses a random relief and the light direction you set.
Can I animate it?
Yes. The GIF export can let the points drift on small loops (Motion), cycle the colors or show new arrangements.
Is the SVG editable?
Yes. Every face is a plain path with its own fill color, without filters or transforms.
