What is it?

Terrazzo is a floor and wall material made of stone and glass chips set in a binder and ground smooth. As a graphic it makes a lively, tactile pattern for packaging, websites, posters and product mockups.

How it works

Choose angular chips, pebbles or a mix, then set the chip size, the number of size classes and how much of the surface they cover. Pick a base color and chip colors; the first color can dominate. Add speckles and grain for a natural finish. Keep Seamless tile on for patterns and export the tile as CSS or PNG, or the whole canvas as SVG, PNG, JPG or WebP.

FAQ

Do the chips overlap?
No. Each chip has a bounding circle, and a new chip is only placed where it keeps the set spacing to all others. Large chips come first, then medium and small ones fill the gaps.
How does the seamless tile work?
Chips that cross an edge of the tile continue on the opposite side. The tile repeats in every direction without visible seams, as a CSS background or as a PNG tile.
Can I use my brand colors?
Yes. Apply a brand palette from your Brand Kit; the base color stays. The main color weight decides how often the first color appears.
How large does the SVG get?
At most 2000 chips and 2500 speckles per tile. On very large surfaces the chips grow instead, so the SVG stays compact.
